Who is this for?
Those who wish to develop their critical existential-analytic abilities as clinical supervisors including those eligible to be on the UKCP Supervisors Directory.

When does it start?
September 2025 (pre-course briefing meeting on Zoom 5pm - 7pm Tuesday 8th July 2025)
When does it take place?
Seven Saturdays 10-5pm for eleven months plus thirty Thursday evenings 5-9pm all over 10 months. (SAFPAC Clinical members and those on interview are deemed to have sufficient therapeutic experience of existentialism and psycho-analysis can opt to only attend the seven Supervision Saturdays 10-5 pm plus thirty Thursday evenings 5 - 7.30 pm).
What is the cost?
Fees are £2050 (or termly £734) and £1550 (or termly £554) for SAFPAC Clinical members.
Where does it take place?
Online with some face-to-face options: Thursday evenings online or face-to-face in Wimbledon U.K., Saturdays on-line with some optional face to face.

- Develop your critical existential-analytic abilities when supervising Psychotherapists, Psychotherapeutic Counsellors and other Psychological Therapists.

- Learn how to supervise therapists, individually and in a group, working open ended and time limited.
- Be part of a learning community facilitated by university experienced lecturers who are also supervisors, practitioners and researchers.
- Hear from a wide range of visiting psychotherapy speakers.
Course Outline
Introductory meeting: (Tuesday 8 July 2025 5-7pm).
Module one: Issue identification (what assumptions do models of supervision make about learning), the nature of therapeutic knowledge & what is known about clinical supervision (Saturday 13 September 2025)
Module two: What can phenomenology teach us about clinical supervision (Commences Saturday 18 October 2025) (practice, phenomenology and supervision)
Module three: What can Rogers teach us about clinical supervision (Commences Saturday 22 or 29 TBC November 2025)
Module four: What can existentialism teach us about clinical supervision (Commences Saturday 17 January 2026)
Module five: What can psychoanalysis teach us about clinical supervision (Commences Saturday 21 March 2026 )
Module six: What can critical psychotherapy teach us about clinical supervision (Commences Saturday 9 May 2026)
Module seven: The SAFPAC Supervision Pass (9 July 2026)

Fees
Fees are £2050 (or termly £734) and £1550 (or termly £554) for SAFPAC Clinical members.
Supervision of Supervision
Participants are required to carry out 40 hours of external clinical supervision of psychological therapists whilst attending the programme.
There is a further requirement for 6 hours overall additional individual tutorials/ supervisions with core staff (Prof Del Loewenthal, Dr Julia Cayne and Dr Onel Brooks) outside the above times (separate payment of £75 per session).
Participants will receive in total a minimum of 8 hours one to one supervision of supervision with the core tutors.
Participants will in addition receive peer supervision on the programme.
Additional requirements for those wishing to receive the Diploma
A minimum of 80% attendance of overall course
A portfolio documenting the above requirements plus passing a 4,000-word supervision assignment
Successfully presenting the Supervision Pass to the learning community.

You will also need to meet as pre requisites the UKCP and College Standards of Education and Training (SETS).
